IDP is commited to the development, sale and support of business IT solutions.
This site is one of the consequences of the development of a new vision we embraced for our business.
This vision is based upon three areas:
- The development of new products and services in the business IT area, namely with the new version 4 of our business platform, IDP g21; the internationalization of the Packed Food XXI system; the integration of Documents g21 with all other IDP’s systems; and the new version of the IDP S&A – Member Management System.
- Contract management, the backbone where all support services to customers will be consolidated, for both our own systems and the systems we implement from other software makers, namely, SAGE and PRIMAVERA BSS. Contract management is an area in which the equipments, such as servers and networking gear, are closely binded with software solutions, enabling the customer to reach his goals.
- The business development area is where new customers and markets are gathered. This is achieved both by creating new projects and increasing market base for existing products.
These are the cornerstones on which we aim to achieve our vision: to be your preferred business partner for the design, implementation and support of your business’ IT.
Our traditional values – customer service, fast response and total empathy with our clients’ problems – are now enhanced with renewed efficiency and a no-compromise professionalism, which we invite our customers to put to the test.
IDP was founded in 1994, and started out as a professional learning centre geared towards professional training in computer applications. In those days, thousands of students attended our classes.
In 1999 Josorac, SGPS acquired a substancial part of the company’s share capital. The acquisition was made by the Josorac group aiming to create an inovative project in the business IT area in Portugal.
Thus IDP became a company geared towards the IT business market.
With a new corporate image, new headquarters, equipments, human resources and a new company pact, IDP established itself firmly in the business IT market in Portugal.
This corporate image and market positioning was kept until 2010, at which time the company is totally reengineered, with a new challenging attitude in the development of new products and services, contract management and business development.
It is also in 2010 that the company opens up a Lisbon branch office, and it is the year in which the groundwork for the company’s internacionalization is started.

The new IDP stands on the traditional values of IDP – service, fast response and respect for the customer’s concerns – and now adds new values of professionalism and competence.
All strategic decisions are made by the Board of Directors. The chair is José Ângelo Pinto, who is also the CEO for the company.
- Research & Development
IDP’s R&D created the most efficient business management system in the world: the IDP g21 platform.
The system is an integrated block of solutions for businesses of all sizes: manages the supply chain, all the sales stages, production and all other business needs. All in a logical, rational way and fully integrated.
The new version of this platform, with full integration with other IDP solutions such as Documents XXI, is the answer to a constantly changing and demanding business environment and is a key project currently undergoing development.
The constant creation of new products for a truly 21st century management – innovative, fast, efficient and capable of delivering great value to the customer – is the reason behind the constant investment that the company makes in this area.
The R&D area is supervised by Pedro António Pinto, who is also the CTO for the company. He is also a member of the Board.
- Business development
Business development is all about fulfilling our products’ market potential.
The products and services developed by IDP and which are promoted by this area through the usage of adequate marketing techniques aim to aid our customers in their activities, becoming part of their success.
No matter how much customization your problem needs, IDP will always provide, with the help of the range of competences acquired through specialization and years of experience, an adequate analisys and breakdown of your problem, reaching the most adequate solution based on the actual problem context.
Internationalization of some of IDP’s products will be handled by this area.
Supervising this area is Miguel Neves Vieira, who is also member of the Board and CMO of the company.
- Contract management
We think the relationship we have with our customers is of the utmost importance. This is why we decided to create a business area entirely dedicated to managing all aspects of our contracts.
The guarantee of support to any IDP system is solely possible via a support contract.
Our contracts are made with the aim of ensuring IDP’s support. They are established based on a basic support fee, plus a negotiated number of hours os support.
This business area also includes the management of contracts for the updating of systems, be it from IDP or from one of our business partners.
The GOLD contract is a premium IDP service, which offers remote guaranteed support within four hours of first contact and automatic deployment of all upgrades. This is a new differentiated service, geared towards demanding customers who cannot afford to have downtime in their systems.
